Biggest Fashion Shows

The Biggest Fashion Shows On Earth
by Shannon Holland

The title of 'Biggest Fashion Show on the Plant' has four main contenders, each vying for the title. London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week (commercially known as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) and Milan Fashion Week are universally accepted to be the four biggest fashion shows on the plant. Hence, when it comes to fashion shows, they are known as the 'Big Four'.

The design collections for the spring/summer and the autumn/winter seasons are shown at these semi-annual shows. The spring/summer collections are unusually run during February or March, and the autumn/winter collections are usually run over September or October.

The profit and smooth running of each of the 'Big Four' fashion shows was assured by the proposition of a schedule. The most high-ranking of all the 'Big Four' fashion shows starts the events, with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week starting the proceedings, before the fashion world moves to London, and then Milan, with Paris nominated to end the proceedings. Having four major fashion shows rather than just one keeps the fashion world accessible to everyone, rather than just to people who live in a certain aria.

How To Be Fashionable

How To Be Fashionable: Several Wonderful Thoughts
by Fiona Wyresdle

When you witness people walking in the street you are able to simply spot those that conform to fashion. The world of fashion is so complicated and busy that persons don't even realize that they are fashion victims half the time. They so very much yearn to look like the models in the magazines that they purchase clothes that don't suit them and that look absurd.

Now, that is not to say that you have to go out of your way to make sure that you have the latest fashion, if you cannot get the best fashion, make your own fashion - make a statement of your own, and be an individual. You have to bear in mind, the more creative you are with your clothes, the more chance you have to get into the fashion industry.

What are the 5 most common clothing fabrics?
by Penny Farnsworth

Many people simply do not know how many different fabrics there are that go into making your clothes – even more go into making your whole wardrobe of clothes! You might be familiar with Cotton, most likely Polyester too, but how about Rayon, Acrylic or Acetate? Today I’m going to explore the most commonly used fabrics in our clothing and give you a little bit of information about each.

1. Cotton – The most common fabric; A natural fiber which grows around cotton plant seeds. The fiber is gathered into large bales and then separated by grades before it is shipped to textile factories where it is spun into long and continuous threads. After being spun into thread it is gathered onto large spindles and then stored in a factory until it is needed for use.

2. Polyester – The second most commonly used fabric in clothes; a strong synthetic fabric which is derived from synthetic fibres of Polyethylene Terephthalate and is essentially a plastic. Very commonly you will find that Polyester is mixed with other fabrics (most commonly Cotton) which helps to improve breathability and anti-creasing properties of the fabric. Polyester is also used to make bottles – So your clothes and that bottle of soda aren’t too different are they?
